The Bay I

Year: 2024

Client: Private

This delightful home is part of MAEK’s The Bay development, primely located in Perth’s Mosman Bay, with uninterrupted views of the Swan River, Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club, and the riverside landscapes beyond.

The design of the home is such that when standing in the kitchen you could easily forget there is a road between you and the river; it feels like you’re right at the water’s edge.

Externally, the home balances natural textures with industrial detailing, featuring handmade Petersen brickwork and metal standing seam cladding. Stone paving appears in various formats with a combination of large stone and smaller cobbles, creating a tapestry of organic finishes.

Inside, the brief for the interiors was for a contemporary Australian look and feel, favouring colour and personality over anything neutral or plain. Spaces needed to feel cosy and lived in, with nothing too sparse or minimal.

This home truly captures the West Australian lifestyle of casual elegance, and for the new owners who love being on the water, cherish entertaining, and appreciate the finer things in life, it couldn’t be more fitting.
